This article is a step by step breakdown on how to set up distance limits for your vehicles. It’s possible to set a limit that applies to all vehicles or you can set a limit per vehicle class.
Setting up distance limits is a 2-step process.
First of all, you will have to create the additional charge per km/mile for when the customer exceeds the limit. This is managed from the Additional Charges section in Settings. You can find out how to do create a new additional charge by clicking here. Tip: in the additional charge, make sure that “Hide from Reservation” is selected as “Yes”. This is because you do not want your customer to see it during the reservation process.
The second step is linking the additional charge to the distance limit settings. To set up distance limit that will be used by all vehicle classes, navigate to the Settings > Car Rentals > Distance Limits section as shown in the picture below. You can hover over the “?” tips to learn more about each option. In the “Additional Charge for Exceeded Distance” select the additional charge that you have created.
To set up the distance limits per vehicle class, navigate to Settings > Vehicle class > The vehicle class that you want to edit > Advanced section as shown in the picture below.
In the “Additional Charge for Exceeded Distance”, select the additional charge that you have created.
